Kiwanis Island-Faroe donates 163.000 Euro

Kiwanis district Island-Faroes managed to enter the Islandic televison with a remarkable project.

Governor Haukur Þ Sveinbjörnsson in Kiwanis Iceland-Faroe District and President of Iceland Guðni Th. Jóhannesson and his wife Eliza Reid helped the Kiwanis International Iceland-Faroes District K39 to donate 172.000 US dollar (163.000 EURO) to help PIETA and BUGL. Pieta in Iceland provides a free, therapeutic approach to young people who are in suicidal distress and those who engage in self-harm. BUGL is a Child-Teenagers psychiatric award in Reykjavík. The money was raised by the K-day Committee.

Chairmann Gylfi Ingvarsson was thankful for all the work of Kiwanis members in Iceland on K-day with the selling of the K-key.
