DETROIT, 1915: Allen BROWNE decided to create a club, it was essentially a business club. The club was named KIWANIS, which is a phonetic adaptation of the Indian word of the Ochipew-tribe, ‘NUN KEE WANIS’, which, in a general sense, means: ‘We like to share our talents’.
